President-elect Donald Trump has an incredible mandate to mass deport all illegal immigrants from America -- will he actually do it?

A new poll from CBS News/YouGov released on Sunday found that 57% of voters support Trump "starting a national program to find and deport all immigrants who are in the US illegally."

Only 43% of voters were opposed.

From CBS News:
As was the case with voters throughout the campaign, most Americans would, in principle, approve of a new mass deportation program.

If the Trump administration does start a mass deportation program, most of the public would have it carried out by law enforcement or current immigration agencies — most would not have the U.S. military do it.
From CBS:

An Axios poll back in April found 51% of Americans supported mass deportations. Not only has that number grown significantly but the CBS/YouGov poll asked if voters would approve of Trump deporting "all" immigrants who are in the US illegally.

Despite Trump pledging to conduct mass deportations, he's also shilled for increased "legal" immigration and said he wants to staple green cards to diplomas (which will just lead to a massive expansion of diploma mills and the further "legalizing" of illegal immigration).

It's questionable if he even wants to deport illegal immigrants at all (he has employed many of them in the past through his businesses and many of his rich donors like the Adelsons support amnesty).

Reuters reported on Monday that farm groups are asking Trump to exempt their sector from any mass deportation plans:
Trump transition spokesperson Karoline Leavitt did not directly address the farmer concerns in a statement to Reuters.

"The American people re-elected President Trump by a resounding margin giving him a mandate to implement the promises he made on the campaign trail, like deporting migrant criminals and restoring our economic greatness," Leavitt said. "He will deliver."
Note, they're already pivoting to only deporting "migrant criminals" (and crossing our border illegally evidently isn't "criminal" enough).

Trump caved on securing our border during his first term due to the media and members of his own family crying about "family separation" -- and seeing as how he's making many of the same mistakes he made in his first term when it comes to staffing, odds are he'll cave again (if he even puts up a fight in the first place).
