South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham on Thursday pivoted away from a discussion on the poor treatment of Hurricane Helene victims to demand more aid to Israel. "I've been going all over South Carolina, like most people I haven't slept much but look what's going on in Israel," Graham told Fox News' Sean Hannity. "Our friends in Israel are surrounded by people that want to kill them, destroy them -- a second Holocaust in the making -- and Biden says to be proportional?"
"What is the proportional response to people [who] want to kill you and your family? They are running out of ammunition in Israel! We have to help our friends to keep the war over there from coming here!" Graham also lamented that Biden has been "slow-walking weapons in Ukraine." Graham made the same pivot on X earlier this week, saying Congress needs to "reconvene to pass a supplemental aid package for the damage done to the Southeast by Hurricane Helene and also to provide missile defense assistance to Israel, which is under attack from the Iranian regime."
Over the past three months, Graham introduced multiple bills aimed at launching a war with Iran for threatening Israel's security and said on Aug 1 that "now is the time" to "go on offense" against Tehran. In 2021, Graham flew to Israel to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and literally held up a sign demanding "More for Israel" after Congress had already passed a bill to give them another $40 billion in US military aid.
