![]() ![]() The Diversity Visa Lottery Program, also known as the Schumer Program, "aims to diversify the immigrant population in the United States, by selecting applicants mostly from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States." "The terrorist came into our country through what is called the 'Diversity Visa Lottery Program,' a Chuck Schumer beauty," Trump tweeted Wednesday morning. "I want merit based."
Trump's proposed RAISE Act would eliminate the Diversity Visa Lottery program and institute a merit-based immigration system similar to countries like Australia and Canada. "We are fighting hard for Merit Based immigration, no more Democrat Lottery Systems. We must get MUCH tougher (and smarter)," Trump said in a follow-up tweet.
"'Senator Chuck Schumer helping to import Europes problems' said Col.Tony Shaffer. We will stop this craziness!" Trump said.
Trump said Tuesday night he ordered Homeland Security to step up his "extreme vetting program":
Turncoat Republican Jeff Flake, who recently announced his retirement after polls showed he had only 18% support among Republicans in his own state, rushed to Chuck Schumer's defense Wednesday morning to say his Gang of Eight amnesty bill, which would have opened the floodgates to totally unrestricted third world immigration, would have eliminated the Diversity Visa Program "as part of broader reforms."
He didn't clarify the "broader reforms" were total open borders and blanket amnesty for millions of illegals. Schumer, who politicizes every tragedy without exception, responded to Trump by tweeting: "I guess it's not too soon to politicize a tragedy."
He went on to dodge the issue and accuse Trump of "dividing America":
Schumer's bill let this terrorist and many more into America in the name of "diversity." He thinks it's "good for America" to let in immigrants like this so long as it gets our diversity numbers up and ensures underrepresented terrorists also have a chance to attack America (not to give them the equal opportunity to attack America would be racist and discriminatory). ![]() There's no getting around this fact, so he just dodges the issue and tries to change the subject.
