Police Terrorize Students With Staged Shooting Drill

Police at North Lake College staged an "active shooter drill" in the middle of a school day with almost no one getting prior warning, even faculty members, leaving dozens of students terrorized thinking they could be killed at any moment.

WFAA reports:

IRVING — Dozens of students at North Lake College in Irving feared for their lives on Friday. They heard gunfire and saw police inside the nursing building.

While their panic was real, the situation was anything but — and now school leaders are reviewing what happened.

[...]"We heard two gunshots and women screaming loudly," Culton said.

The sound of gunfire just feet outside her classroom sent students scrambling.

"I pulled a chair over me and was grabbing bags and building a fort over it," she said. "One student checked and said there was a shooter in the hall ... there was a woman around me crying."

Culton started texting her boyfriend, a state trooper: "Shots at school. Call police."

What Culton didn't know was that the gunfire was all part of a planned drill.

"Police said it was an 'active shooter class' — meaning they were practicing for scenarios like a shooter on campus," Culton said.

Similar scenarios like this one happen regularly all over America. Last year a school in Orangeville, Ill. specifically decided not notify students of a similar active shooter drill. The students were left predictably terrorized, with one of the students who was "targeted" fleeing the school running for his life:

We chose not to tell them because we wanted to see how the teachers could put them through the drill,” [District 203 Superintendent Randy Otto] said.

[...]Otto did confirm that the student who the 'intruder' was searching for, fled school grounds and had to be located and brought back to school.

From Wyoming, Michigan:

WYOMING, Mich. - A school safety drill that included police officers in riot gear with weapons has caused concern among some parents who say it was too realistic and frightened some students.

[...]Principal David Britten said students weren't told ahead of time to make the drill as realistic as possible. Teachers were informed moments before it took place, he said.

"I think this is the best way to do it," Britten said. "We're not looking to scare anyone, but we want a sense of urgency."

From Elizabeth City, North Carolina:

An armed man who burst into a classroom at Elizabeth City State University was role-playing in an emergency response drill, but neither the students nor assistant professor Jingbin Wang knew that.

"I was prepared to die at that moment," Wang said Tuesday. [...]students said they were prepared to jump out of a window.

These drills are all about teaching citizens to submit to authority, if they actually cared about safety, they'd allow people to arm themselves. Instead, they tell everyone to turn their lights off, lock their doors, and bunch up into a corner to form a massive target. It's just like the old nuclear scare-orism drills they had kids perform in the past where they told them to go under their desks, they knew at the time that would have no effect, they just wanted everyone to know they could die at any moment and only the government can protect them.

As the dictator said in the movie V for Vendetta:

"I want this country to realize that we stand on the edge of oblivion. I want every man, woman and child to understand how close we are to chaos. I want everyone to remember why they need us!"
