WICHITA FALLS — An initial report from the Texas Department of Public Safety reveals a Wichita Falls police officer involved in a fatal accident June 30 was driving his police cruiser in "at a very high rate of speed" above the posted 45 mph speed limit. "Evidence at the scene indicated a minimum speed of 80 mph," the report said. "Evidence at the scene also showed the driver of Unit 1 (the police car) took no evasive action when a reasonable person would have," the report said.
