Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) on Friday revealed that whistleblowers told him that "most" of former President Donald Trump's security detail on Saturday "were not even Secret Service" but instead Department of Homeland Security agents who were "unprepared and inexperienced."
Hawley wrote in a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas: Dear Secretary Mayorkas: As a Member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, which has oversight jurisdiction over your department, I will continue to investigate your department’s role in the staggering security failures on July 13. Unfortunately, your department has not been appropriately forthcoming with Members of Congress—abruptly ending the only call with USSS before most senators could even ask a question. This is completely unacceptable and contrary to the public’s interest in transparency.Trump narrowly escaped a bullet to the brain and firefighter Corey Comperatore was killed in the shooting. The Secret Service reported last week that two other rallygoers were "critically injured" in the shooting but Trump said Thursday during his RNC speech that they're expected to recover. The fact that not a single person has been fired or resigned over this colossal security failure is an utter disgrace. Follow InformationLiberation on Twitter, Facebook, Gab, Minds and Telegram. |
