The gunman who shot former President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday has been identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, according to the New York Post.

"Crooks, of Bethel Park, Pa., squeezed off shots -- one of which grazed Trump in the ear -- at an outdoor rally in Butler, just outside Pittsburgh," the Post reported.

"Sources said Crooks was was planted on a roof of a manufacturing plant more than 130 yards away from the stage at Butler Farm Show grounds."

The FBI on Sunday also identified Crooks as the "subject involved" in the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, Reuters reports.

There's a graphic image of the shooter's face covered in blood after he was killed by Secret Service and it appears to line up with the photos below that are now all over social media but this hasn't yet been confirmed.

The Secret Service said Saturday night that one spectator was killed and two others were critically injured.

The FBI said they "do not currently have an identified motive."
