Lebanon's Hezbollah on Wednesday released video purportedly showing they took out an Israeli Iron Dome air-defense battery in Northern Israel with a guided missile.
The strike was reportedly done using an Iranian "Diamond" (Almas) missile, a clone of the Spike-MR missile developed by the US-funded Israeli company Rafael Advanced Defense Systems. Hezbollah said "it launched several attacks on Israeli positions during the day, including a 'guided missile' strike on an 'Iron Dome platform in the Ramot Naftali barracks,'" Al Jazeera reports. Israel's Iron Dome defense system was funded by American taxpayer dollars and developed by Israel's Rafael Advanced Defense Systems but the US had to shut down its own Iron Dome project in 2020 because Israel refused to share the source code for the system with America.
