Robert F Kennedy Jr on Tuesday named Nicole Shanahan, an attorney and major donor to his campaign who got rich off divorcing Google co-founder Sergey Brin, as his running mate.

From The Hill:
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has chosen tech attorney and entrepreneur Nicole Shanahan to join his independent presidential campaign as his running mate.

Kennedy made the announcement at an event in Oakland, Calif., on Tuesday, where he outlined how their 2024 ticket will differ from those of President Biden and former President Trump.

He said at the event that Shanahan is a daughter of immigrants "who overcame every daunting obstacle and went on to achieve the highest levels of the American dream."
"That is why I'm so proud to introduce to you, the next vice president of the United States, my fellow lawyer, a brilliant scientist, technologist, a fierce warrior-mom, Nicole Shanahan," Kennedy said.

Kennedy's choice of Shanahan adds an element of age and gender diversity to the ticket. At 38, she is more than three decades younger than the 70-year-old Kennedy. A female running mate also helps offset the ticket in an election where the Democratic, Republican and Independent front-runners are all older white men.
Ah yes, all it takes to have dynamism is to be anything but a white male (ABAWM).

From The Guardian:
Shanahan, 38, was previously best known in the media as the wife of Google co-founder and tech billionaire Sergey Brin. Their divorce in 2021 made headlines after the Wall Street Journal reported that Shanahan allegedly had an affair with Brin's friend and fellow tech mogul Elon Musk, resulting in a falling out between Brin and the Tesla chief executive. Shanahan and Musk denied any affair took place.

In recent months, Shanahan became a major backer of Kennedy's campaign and bankrolled his controversial Super Bowl commercial that imitated a John F Kennedy campaign ad and caused Kennedy family members to condemn the spot. Shanahan donated $4m to the Super Pac behind the ad, telling the New York Times that she saw an opportunity to highlight Kennedy's candidacy and agreed with his stances on the environment and vaccines.

[...] Before becoming one of Kennedy's most prominent donors, Shanahan previously donated thousands in campaign contributions to a range of Democratic politicians. Some of the recipients included the California congressman Ro Khanna, the Virginia congresswoman Abigail Spanberger, and several fundraising efforts backing Joe Biden for president.
I stopped caring about RFK Jr's campaign when he sold out on Israel.

You can't run as an "anti-war" candidate while being an enthusiastic supporter of Israel's ethnic cleansing campaign.
