"The community that faced the most restrictions on their freedoms in the last year were those who made a choice not to be vaccinated," Premier Smith said. "I don't think I've ever experienced a situation in my lifetime where a person was fired from their job, or not allowed to watch their kids play hockey, or not allowed to go visit a loved one in long term care or hospital, or not allowed to go get on a plane to go across the country to see family or even travel across the border. So, they have been the most discriminated against group that I've ever witnessed in my lifetime, that's a pretty extreme level of discrimination that we have seen." "I don't take away any of the discrimination that I've seen in those other groups that you've mentioned but this has been an extraordinary time in the last year in particular, and I want people to know that I find that unacceptable, that we are not going to create a segregated society on the basis of a medical choice," Smith said. Thank you, Premier Smith, for stating the hard facts no one else will. Pure bloods are the most discriminated against group in the world and it's time we got the recognition we deserve. The way pure bloods have been treated has been an absolute disgrace without any modern precedent. The unvaccinated are at the top of the oppression pyramid -- and no other group can even come close. Even though Smith included unneeded caveats in her statement that she doesn't mean to take away "any of the discrimination" she has seen in other groups, the Jewish Federation of Edmonton responded to her comments with outrage. The Jewish Federation told Smith, who was born in 1971, that Jews are the most discriminated against group because of the Holocaust. "We are aware of the comments made yesterday by Premier @ABDanielleSmith regarding the unvaccinated being the most discriminated against group that she's witnessed in her lifetime. We have reached out to the premier's office to express our concerns surrounding these comments & are keen on meeting with the Premier to discuss antisemitism, discrimination in our community & others in Alberta, the need for mandatory Holocaust education & the story of Alberta's Jewish community," the Jewish Federation said.
I guess they've never seen how Palestinians are treated in Israel. After the media generated a fake controversy over Smith's comments by refusing to report the caveats she made in her original address, Smith issued a statement further clarifying that she did not mean to "trivialize" discrimination faced by other groups.
Notably, Smith did not apologize for her truthful statement. She needs to stick to her guns and every other conservative leader needs to start saying the same. First, those who discriminated against us need to be held accountable for their crimes. Second, we need to have a national (and international) conversation about the need for pure blood reparations. We need to address current discrimination and recent discrimination before we can discuss any alleged past discrimination!
