Grandmother Linda Frickey, 73, was allegedly carjacked, beat and lynched in broad daylight by a group of four "teens" on Monday in New Orleans.
The four "teens" were filmed stalking Frickey in her car before allegedly carjacking her and dragging her through the streets to her death.
WAVE cut off the part where they started dragging her through the street but WGNO showed a bit more of the very start of it (WGNO cut off the beginning part showing how they stalked her):
You can see in the video the assailant on the left appears to be brutally beating Frickey while pulling her from her car. From The Daily Mail, "NOLA grandmother, 73, is killed in brutal carjacking after having arm RIPPED OFF by seatbelt as she was dragged along and pleaded with teenage robbers to let her go": A 73-year-old grandmother was killed during a brutal carjacking Monday in New Orleans, with a group of teenage attackers dragging her down the street for nearly a block while the woman screamed at them to let her go. Linda Frickey, 73, was dragged down North Scott Street in New Orleans after four teenage carjackers stole her car and trapped the grandmother outside her vehicle with her arm stuck in the seatbelt around 1:30 p.m. on Monday. 'It was dragging a lady by the seatbelt outside the car. The door had closed on the seatbelt, and she was stuck in it…I got out of my vehicle screaming: "Please stop," other neighbors were also screaming,' another witness Todd Ecker told Fox 8."Superintendent Shaun Ferguson confirmed that one 17-year-old boy, one 16-year-old girl, and two 15-year-old girls were arrested," WDSU reported. "The teens will be facing charges of second-degree murder." All four teens have had prior arrests, according to police. The Senate unanimously passed an anti-lynching act last week. "Lynching is a longstanding and uniquely American weapon of racial terror that has for decades been used to maintain the white hierarchy," Rep. Bobby Rush, (D-IL) said in a statement on March 8 when the bill passed. "Unanimous Senate passage of the Emmett Till Anti-Lynching Act sends a clear and emphatic message that our nation will no longer ignore this shameful chapter of our history and that the full force of the U.S. federal government will always be brought to bear against those who commit this heinous act." The first person lynched after this bill was passed by the Senate was a white grandmother. The video suggests she was lynched by four black teenagers. Biden does not appear to have signed the bill into law yet, otherwise this would be the perfect opportunity to demand these "teens" be the first assailants brought up on charges under the act. That said, if accused school shooter Ethan Crumbley's parents can be brought on charges for a crime carried out by their son, there's no reason the parents of these four "teens" couldn't be brought up on charges as well. The law must be applied equally -- justice demands it! UPDATE: "A law enforcement source identified the accused killers as 17-year-old John Honore and three 15-year-old girls: Briniyah Baker, Marquel Curtis and Lenyra Theophile," WVUE reports. WVUE reported Tuesday that accused murderer John Honore "had a previous violent crime allegation charged in adult Criminal District Court that was dropped last year by District Attorney Jason Williams’ office," according to court records. Honore and two co-defendants who are not accused in Frickey's death were charged as adults for another alleged carjacking nearly two years ago when he was 15. Former District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro’s office charged Honore in that case in June 2020, along with co-defendants Aaliyah Thompson (then 17) and Miguel Leon Jr. (then 17).Williams needs to be brought up on charges for willful neglect of duty.
