Boris Johnson's election was reported as an indictment of open-borders, liberalism and the government's failure to follow through on Brexit but his top priority is apparently punishing critics of Israel.

From The Jerusalem Post, "Boris Johnson to pass anti-BDS law, official says":
The new Conservative government in the UK will pass a law making it illegal for public bodies to engage with BDS, UK Special Envoy for post-Holocaust issues Eric Pickles said at the International Institute for Strategic Dialogue’s conference in Jerusalem on Sunday.

"BDS is antisemitic and should be treated as such," Pickles said, explaining that the new law will not allow public bodies to work with those who boycott, divest from or sanction Israel in any way.
The British government's antisemitism tsar, John Mann, revealed one day after the election he was launching an Orwellian probe into "far-left websites" with the seeming aim of charging them with various thought crimes -- such as hate speech or incitement -- for defending Labour figures against accusations of antisemitism.

From The JC, "Government antisemitism adviser to launch hate probe into The Canary and other far-left websites":
John Mann, the government’s independent adviser on antisemitism, is to launch a probe into the role of the Canary and other far-left websites in the growth of Jew-hate in the UK.

The former Labour MP resigned from Parliament in September in protest at Jeremy Corbyn's failure to tackle rampant antisemitism within the party.

Lord Mann – who was MP for Bassetlaw for 18 years and was made an independent peer in October – wrote on Twitter on Friday: “I can this morning announce that as government adviser on antisemitism that I will be instigating an investigation this January into the role of the Canary and other websites in the growth of antisemitism in the United Kingdom.”

Lord Mann’s announcement included a repost of a tweet by Kerry-Anne Mendoza, Editor-in-Chief of the Canary, accusing Jewish Guardian columnist Jonathan Freedland of “manufacturing” the election result.
"Literally the first order of business for this toxic nightmare of a government was to declare war on new Left media," Kerry-Anne Mendoza responded. "If you're stupid enough to cheer that, I pity the shock you're gonna get when they eventually come for you and there's no one left to help."

President Trump last week signed an executive order to punish critics of Israel on college campuses.

Just days before signing the executive order, Trump told GOP megadonor Sheldon Adelson's Israeli American Council that "we have to get the people of our country, of this country, to love Israel more."
