Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), who consistently checks out as the legislator in Washington D.C. with the most conservative voting record, issued a history lesson about Syria over social media on Friday about how the involvement has been worsened by U.S. intervention in recent years. Massie posted a Twitter thread on Syria outlining how war in that nation was being ginned up during the Obama administration, and despite widespread support from neoconservative Republicans and Democrats, it was ultimately rejected because the American public had no appetite for the conflict.

Massie finished his Twitter thread by urging for all soldiers to be removed by Syria immediately unless members of Congress have the courage to actually go on the record and vote to send troops to the country.
