UPDATE: Police Informant Says His Lies Killed a Harmless Pot Smoker29-year-old Joseph Wescott of Tampa Florida allegedly dealt marijuana out of his home and sold his weed a few times to uncover officers. He also had a gun. Therefore, Tampa police had a SWAT team raid his home and kill him. All this over a plant the majority of Floridians want legalized. The Tampa police, those involved of which are now enjoying a paid vacation while their brothers in the force "investigate," claim Wescott pulled a gun on them to justify their murder. If that's even true, which is a big if, that's an entirely normal response to being faced with an armed invasion. A Texas cop was recently shot and killed in a similar raid over marijuana, the state tried to bring the shooter up on capital murder charges yet the jury refused to indite the shooter because they agreed he acted in self-defense. Unfortunately, in this case the police acted as judge, jury and executioner. Here's the only video report on the shooting via local station WTSP: |
