Despite Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez claiming "testing" showed police did not tamper with video evidence from a local Burger King which may have had footage showing the run up to the shooting of Laquan McDonald, new screen grabs show police were at a computer terminal inside the Burger King and appear to be on the computer where 86 minutes of footage coinciding with the shooting disappeared. From NBC Chicago: On the night of the Laquan McDonald shooting, Chicago police entered the nearby Burger King restaurant on Pulaski Road to see what its security cameras captured, a store official told NBC 5 News six months ago. When Alvarez was questioned over the claim the footage was tampered with by police, she said "forensic testing" did not "reveal any such evidence.” When further questioned for any evidence, she quickly responded “that’s all I’m going to say on this.” In other words, she won't provide their evidence showing it wasn't tampered with; not their forensic testing methods, not who performed the forensic testing, nothing. We have to just take it on faith over 86 minutes of footage which could have shown the run-up to the shooting and which coincided with the shooting spontaneously deleted itself while Chicago police stood over their computer for over two hours.
