County officials are free to steal an elderly car crash victim's home for missing a single property tax payment back in 2011, a Kalamazoo county judge has decreed. Kalamazoo County Circuit Court Judge Gary Giguere, Jr. said the state can steal her home because the "numerous and varied forms of notice" used to contact the victim, Deborah Calley "were reasonably calculated to apprise her of the foreclosure proceedings." Of course, she says she never received them, and she says when she paid her taxes in 2012 no one told her she owed anything, but quite simply, the judge doesn't give a damn. Calley says she's still willing to pay the $2,000 tax ransom they demanded, and she's begging them to let her, but the state is instead seeking to sell her home so they can pocket an estimated $80,000 in profit. Calley can appeal the ruling, but the city is now free to sell her home, they would only be forced to return it later if she wins on appeal. _ Chris runs the website InformationLiberation.com, you can read more of his articles here.
