A new study in the Journal of the American Dental Association finds once again that, contrary to what most people have been told, fluoride is actually bad for teeth.
Exposure to high levels of fluoride results in a condition known as fluorosis, in which tooth enamel becomes discolored. The condition can eventually lead to badly damaged teeth.  Two posters plastered to city telephone poles claiming “there is poison in the tap water” recently prompted city officials to assure residents the city’s water supply is safe.

The HPV vaccine was approved in 2006 as the first vaccine that can prevent a type of cancer. The vaccine protects against several common strains of human papilloma virus, which causes genital warts and can lead to cervical cancer. Americans seem to be wising up about the flu shot scam, according to a new study in Consumer Reports indicating that fewer people than last year are planning to, or have already gotten, the flu shot this year. Thirty-one percent of respondents indicated they are unsure if they will get this year's three-in-one combo vaccine because of concerns about its safety and effectiveness, while 30 percent said they definitely will not be getting the shot.

The flu season is upon us, along with good and bad news.
The swine flu epidemic of last year was warned to be an immense disaster and the end result showed it was milder than what had been forecast.
The mortality rate of last years flu have estimates showed it turned out to be one-third of a normal year, despite the news of the new human-bird-pig influenza virus known as swine flu. No flashing lights, red flags or disasters occurred.

A drug addict has become the first man in the country to be sterilised in exchange for cash under a controversial new project.
The man, known as John, who has been addicted to heroin for 15 years, was given £200 by an American charity in return for having a vasectomy.

Former Frederick residents are gearing up for a town hall meeting Saturday to discuss the possibility that Fort Detrick caused three cases of cancer in their family.

A lower court had barred the sale of the modified alfalfa seeds until an environmental impact study could be carried out.
