What Wiselot and fellow Ron Paul delegates had experienced was a memorable display of the Republican Party’s fetid essence. The tactics employed by the GOP establishment to isolate, intimidate, and ultimately to expel Ron Paul delegates were the natural product of the party’s totalitarian genetics. By using criminal means to impose a monolithic, top-down process in which an entrenched oligarchy can re-write the rules to suit its whims, the Republican Party was simply living down to its odious pedigree.
From its inception, the Republican Party has been devoted to a doctrine properly called national socialism – the fusion of politically favored corporate interests with national bank and an all-powerful, militaristic central government. This is why Dr. Paul’s noble attempt to cultivate a liberty movement within the GOP was ultimately as futile as seeking to create life in a test tube.
As Dr. Thomas DiLorenzo documents in his slender but potent volume Lincoln Unmasked, a century and a half before the lamentable advent of Barack Obama "The Party of Lincoln set out to fundamentally transform the American government from a decentralized confederacy of sovereign states to a consolidated, monolithic empire." The mission of the GOP, in a single phrase, was to supplant the republic with a reich.
The party’s objectives were described with admirable clarity by Ohio Senator... (more)
The Convention is where delegates are meant to cast votes for the nominee, yet the Tampa Bay Times Forum was already plastered with embedded Romney banners, and additional 'Mitt' signs for people to hold were also smuggled in to make it appear that many are behind him. All Ron Paul material was promptly confiscated.
Are you or somebody you know suffering from the delusion of democracy? Did your parents and teachers lead you to believe that government is necessary in order for society to function? Did they teach you that democracy represents the will of the people and that tax pays for schools and roads and hospitals?
If so, don't worry, you're not alone. Million... (more)
As a libertarian, I see little difference between Obama and Romney. They both favor a perpetual war on terror, an occupation of Afghanistan, military aid to Israel, indefinite detention of terror suspects, military imprisonment outside the bounds of habeas corpus, warrantless wiretapping, the TSA, the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, the FDA, the war on drug... World's richest woman: "Drink less, work more"
posted 08/31/2012, 6:36 PM (AFP) [Category: Economy] SYDNEY — The world's richest woman, Australian mining tycoon Gina Rinehart, urged those "jealous" of the wealthy to "spend less time drinking" in a piece the government described as "insulting" on Thursday.
[...]Rinehart blamed what she described as "socialist", anti-business policies for the plight of Australia's poor, urging the government to lower the minimum wage, as well as taxes, unless it wanted to end up like Greece.
"The terrible millionaires and billionair... (more)
She stated the obvious and is being viciously demonized for it. Great example of the "mobbing" FringeElements talked about in his documentary, where people twist everything someone says into something evil.
Meanwhile, she's being attacked for having inherited money, the fact of the matter is if she wasn't a good steward of that money, it'd all be gone.
Instead, according to Wikipedia, she was worth $1.8 billion in 2006, now she's worth $29.17 billion just 6 years later, despite the financial crisis. Compare that to any government the world over and then tell me how important it is to have "inherited" your wealth, the U.S. government "inherits" (see: steals) trillions of dollars a year, yet it all gets burned on socialism and killing people. Their investments are all Solyndra's.
To make money you have to produce value for consumers and get them to give you their money voluntarily, that's how markets work. Of course, all these parasites attacking her make their living robbing workers through taxation and live parasitically off the general populace they rule over, they're the out of touch ones who ought to be ashamed of themselves, though they tend to be sociopaths devoid of human emotion, so it's understandable they don't give a damn. - Chris, InfoLib
UPDATE: "When her father died in 1992, he left the mining mogul $75 million and, yes, she multiplied that sum by 386 over the past 20 years, according to AOL Daily Finance."

Police Unions Cross Line While Bullying Public Officials
posted 08/31/2012, 6:36 PM (Reason) [Category: Tyranny/Police State] Costa Mesa Councilman Jim Righeimer had finished speaking at a community meeting last Wednesday, and then headed to a pub owned by fellow councilman Gary Monahan. Righeimer drank two sodas and drove home. After arriving home, a Costa Mesa cop showed up at his door and asked him to step outside and take a sobriety test, which he passed.
That a police officer can ask for a sobriety test after you have returned home is troubling enough, but the details of the case are even more aston

Apple Rejects App That Tracks U.S. Drone Strikes
posted 08/31/2012, 6:32 PM (Wired) [Category: Big Brother/Orwellian] It seemed like a simple enough idea for an iPhone app: Send users a pop-up notice whenever a flying robots kills someone in one of America’s many undeclared wars. But Apple keeps blocking the Drones+ program from its App Store — and therefore, from iPhones everywhere. The Cupertino company says the content is “objectionable and crude,” according to Apple’s latest rejection letter.
Bernanke says Fed ready to act but short on specifics
posted 08/31/2012, 6:31 PM (Reuters) [Category: Economy] JACKSON HOLE, Wyo., Aug 31 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke on Friday left the door wide open to a further easing of monetary policy, saying the stagnation in the U.S. labor market was a "grave concern," but he stopped short of providing a clear signal of imminent action.
His stark language gave a temporary lift to U.S. stocks, but economists walked away from the Fed chairman's remarks still divided over whether the central bank would launch a fresh round of bond ... (more)
