DC sniper juror now says Muhammad doesn't deserve to die

 Don't kill convicted DC sniper John Muhammad.
That's what a Virginia Beach juror who sat on the trial is now saying just days before his execution
According to John Muhammad's lawyer, an MRI of the DC snipers brain proves he is schizophrenic.
And Muhammad's legal team says it has that and more to show the man set to be executed in six days shouldn't be because jurors like Elizabeth Young were never told he was severely mentally ill, something Young is now speaking out about.
"Just cannot believe that there was all this evidence of mental illness and childhood abuse and schizophrenia and we the jury were not presented with that evidence"
Young recorded a telephone interview with Muhammad's lawyers a few weeks ago.
It's been sent to governor Kaine as part of a request to drop Muhammad's sentence to life in prison without parole.
Something young says she believes the governor should do.
"I'm absolutely convinced that the death penalty is not the right punishment in this case. I believe that justice is done, justice is served by him being in prison for life"
In a letter written by Muhammad and just released today, Muhammad talks about the fact that his lawyers didn't introduce his mental illness in court, saying quote "even though they had it"
Muhammad goes on to say police and prosecutors are murdering an innocent black man.
Young doesn't go that far in her interview, but does say she now believes Muhammad's trial wasn't fair.
"I feel now like we were pawns in a game with rules that we didn't fully understand, nor did we have all the information that we needed and it seemed like the outcome was pretty much pre-determined"

Awfully interesting timing for this new attack to occur right as this comes out. It should be noted Muhammad's case in court was that he was put under mind control when he was in the military.

DC sniper proclaims innocence in 2008 letter

RICHMOND, Va. — Attorneys for John Allen Muhammad have released a May 2008 letter in which the mastermind of the 2002 sniper attacks in the Washington, D.C., area proclaims his innocence.
Attorneys on Wednesday gave out the rambling, handwritten letter in response to requests for a statement from Muhammad. The attorneys say it was filed in connection with a court appeal.
The 48-year-old Muhammad is scheduled to die by injection on Nov. 10 at a Virginia prison.

12 killed, 31 wounded at Fort Hood army base

Officials are confirming that 12 people have been killed and 31 wounded at the army base at Fort Hood, Texas.
Lt. Gen. Bob Cone told a press conference that all the deaths took place in the base's readiness facility, where soldiers are prepared for deployment. A civilian police officer was among the casualties.

WASHINGTON – Investigators probing the death of a Kentucky census worker found hanging from a tree with the word "fed" scrawled on his chest increasingly doubt he was killed because of his government job and are pursuing the possibility he committed suicide, law enforcement officials told The Associated Press.
