In Soviet Amerika, paying off your mortgage in full doesn't mean you actually own your home, you see, you can't really "own" anything in Amerika, you can only "rent" it from the state, the true and ultimate owner of all property in the land of the free. That case is no better illustrated than in this story out of Kalamzoo, Michigan where an elderly woman who was a victim in a horrible car crash which left her life in disarray is having her home seized due to a single missed property tax payment. Despite her tragic story and insistence she wasn't aware she missed the payment, the state is refusing to back down, because they say stealing her home is their "right." |
